Grants & Support

Sharing what we’ve been given is core to who we are.

At Winnetka Congregational Church we support over 70 Chicagoland charitable organizations focused on helping empower those who need it most. We do that through “Mission Giving,” money which comes from the annual pledges from our members,  as well as through “Benevolence” which comes from the proceeds of our Rummage Sale.

Mission Giving

10% of the annual income received from pledges to the church is granted to social service agencies in the Chicago area.. We focus on agencies whose primary mission is to meet basic human needs like food, clothing, shelter, employment, education, and justice. And we most often give to organizations where a small grant can make a significant impact.

Here’s a list of some of the agencies that we’ve partnered with in the past.

Benevolence

Each year, our Rummage/Benevolence Committee distributes the net proceeds from the Winnetka Congregational Church Rummage Sale to agencies in the Chicagoland area that provide prevention, crisis and recovery services to underserved people, in the areas of Education / Rehabilitation, Health / Domestic Violence, Homelessness, Hunger, Mental Health and Immigration.
